Robots and Reverie

What does the world need now?

Love, sweet love.

All jests aside, after attending a recent lecture from Dr. Cornel West and Tavis Smiley on their #povertymustend tour, I have spent most of my time thinking about what the world needs. More specifically, I’ve been thinking about what we need to do to end poverty and promote equality in a nation that has perpetuated practices of systematic oppression since its inception.

As someone who lives in the inner city and teaches in a low socio-economic area, the plight of the poor makes itself increasingly prevalent. Every day I encounter people who don’t even know how to have positive interactions with people they care about, let alone strangers or potential employers.
